Here are all of our policies that we require you to follow when using our services and participating in our events and community, if you have any questions about these policies, please contact us here. All views expressed on this site are solely those of the Society (HullCSS). You may print, download or store a copy of these terms for yourself. They are a legal agreement between us and can only be changed with our consent. We may change these terms at any time, and we reserve the right to do so.

These terms are taken and adapted from the University of Hull’s Terms and Conditions for use by HullCSS.
Terms
- ”We”, “Us”, “Our”, “The Society” refers to HullCSS, a society at the University of Hull.
- ”You”, “Your” refers to you, the User.
- ”Site”, and “Website” refers to the website at hullcss.co.uk.
- ”HUSU”, and “Union” refers to Hull University Students Union.
- ”BCS” refers to the British Computer Society.
- ”UoH”, and “University” refers to the University of Hull.
Accuracy of Information
We, the Society, try to ensure that all information on our site is accurate and up to date, but we cannot guarantee this. If you find any information that is incorrect, please contact us here or by opening an issue or pull request on our GitHub. We will try to correct any errors as soon as possible.
You should ensure the information you send us is accurate and up to date, and does not contain any offensive or illegal content. This includes but is not limited to: hate speech, illegal content, personal information, libel, slander, or any other content of the sort. We may ask you to provide proof that the corrections you provide are accurate, and we reserve the right to refuse to make any changes to our site based on the information you provide.
We make no representations that the information on our site is accurate, complete or up to date, and we do not accept liability for any loss or damage caused by inaccurate information and you should independently verify any of the information on our site before relying upon it.
We accept no liability and offer no warranties in relation to this site and the content on it, to the fullest extent such liability can be excluded by law.
Brand
Logo
Our logo is either a Hashtag #
or the hashtag with the text HullCSS
following it (# HullCSS
).
The Foreground colour of the logo is #a0ff5c
with an offset shadow with the colour #617958
.
The background colour of the logo is either transparent or #282c34
.
The Foreground colour and the background colour may be swapped depending on clarity and contrast.
The text and the hash must use the Jetbrains Mono fontface.
Font
We use the Jetbrains Mono fontface for all of our text on our site and in our logo. It is licensed under the Open Fonts License v1.1
Colours
The colour theme we use is based off of the Atom One-Dark theme, with some slight modifications. You can find the colours we use in the sites tailwind config file. The original OneDark theme is licensed under the MIT License.
Links to Other Sites and External Policies
We may link to other sites, but unless otherwise stated, we do not endorse these sites and we are not responsible for their content. Nor are we affiliated with these sites, unless otherwise stated. We do not accept liability for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.
You must do your due diligence when using these sites, and ensure that you follow their policies. We are not responsible for any repercussions that resulted from a failure to follow the policies of sites we link to.
Codes of Conduct
Being a member of HullCSS requires you to follow our code of conduct. This is to ensure that everyone feels welcome and safe at our events. You can find our code of conduct here. Depending on your involvement with the University of Hull (UoH), Hull University Students Union (HUSU) and the British Computer Society (BCS), you may also be required to follow their respective codes of conduct. These can be found here:
Analytics
We try to use as little analytics as possible, but we do use some to help us improve our site and services. We collect rough location data and basic browser information through Cloudflare Analytics but we do no store any Personal Identifiable Information. We do not store any cookies on your device and we don’t plan to for the forseeable future.
Legal Jurisdiction
English law shall apply to these terms, notwithstanding the jurisdiction where you are based. You irrevocably agree that the courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute which may arise out of, under, or in connection with these terms and for those purposes irrevocably submit all disputes to the jurisdiction of the English courts. The place of performance shall be England.
We make no warranty or guarantee that our site or information available over it complies with laws other than those of England.
General
